Have I already applied for permanent residence just because my profile is already in the pool?

Putting your profile into the express entry pool does not mean that you have applied for permanent residency. Once you’re chosen from the pool and submit the required documents then you have an application for permanent residence in process for consideration. Until then you are just a candidate for an invitation to apply (ITA).

I don’t have any Canadian work experience, can I still become a Permanent Resident of Canada?

Yes, there are plenty of avenues for skilled workers to become Permanent Residents of Canada. Through express entry, with work experience in a skilled NOC code even from overseas you are eligible for draws under the Federal Skilled Worker Program.
